Scorpion Solitaire
How to play
Scorpion uses one deck. Forty-nine cards are dealt into seven columns of seven, and in the first four columns the bottom three cards are face down. All other cards on the table are face up, and the last three cards form the stock. The goal is to build four runs from King down to Ace, one in each suit.
A card can be placed only on the next higher card of the same suit, so the 6 of hearts goes on the 7 of hearts and nowhere else. Any face-up card can be moved together with every card on top of it, whether or not those cards are in order. Only a King, with the cards on it, can be moved into an empty column. When a face-down card is uncovered it turns face up by itself.
Clicking the stock deals its three cards face up, one onto each of the first three columns, and this can happen only once. When a column ends with a complete run from King down to Ace in one suit, the run is removed to a foundation space at the top. The game is won when all four runs have been completed. Because grouped cards move so freely, the order of your moves decides most games.
Controls
Drag any face-up card with the mouse or a finger, and the cards on top of it come along. A single tap or click on a card moves it with its group to a legal column. Click the stock in the top left corner to deal its three cards. Undo takes back moves one at a time with no limit, and Hint outlines one possible move in yellow. Every deal has a number shown as Game #N, Restart deal plays the same cards again, and adding ?deal=N to the page address opens that exact deal.
