Pyramid Solitaire
How to play
Pyramid uses one deck. Twenty-eight cards are dealt face up in a pyramid of seven rows, from one card at the top to seven at the bottom, and each row overlaps the row above it. The other 24 cards form the stock in the top left corner, with the waste next to it. The goal is to remove all 28 cards of the pyramid.
Cards are removed in pairs whose ranks add up to 13. An Ace counts 1, a Jack 11 and a Queen 12, so an Ace pairs with a Queen, a 2 with a Jack and a 3 with a 10. A King counts 13 and is removed on its own. Only uncovered cards can be used, which means cards with no card lying on them, and the top card of the waste can also be paired with an uncovered pyramid card.
Clicking the stock turns its top card onto the waste. When the stock is empty you may turn the waste over once to go through the cards a second time, and after that second pass the stock is finished. Removed cards go to the discard pile in the top right corner. The game is won as soon as the pyramid is cleared, even if cards remain in the stock or the waste.
Controls
Drag one card onto its partner to remove the pair, or drag a King onto the discard pile in the top right corner. A single tap or click on a King removes it at once, and a tap on any other card pairs it with a matching card, trying the waste card before the pyramid. Click the stock to turn the next card, and click the empty stock spot to start the second pass. Undo takes back moves one at a time with no limit, and Hint outlines one possible pair in yellow. Every deal has a number shown as Game #N, Restart deal plays the same cards again, and adding ?deal=N to the page address opens that exact deal.
