Video poker
How to play
This video poker is free play with play chips, and no real money is involved. Each hand uses one fresh 52-card deck, shuffled before the deal. You get five cards, choose which ones to hold, and the cards you do not hold are replaced from the same deck on the draw. The final five cards are scored against the pay table, and the lowest paying hand is a pair of jacks, queens, kings or aces.
The game uses the 9/6 Jacks or Better pay table, quoted per coin bet. A royal flush pays 250 per coin, or 4,000 for a bet of five coins, a straight flush pays 50, four of a kind 25, a full house 9, a flush 6, a straight 4, three of a kind 3, two pair 2 and jacks or better 1. The payout replaces the bet, so jacks or better gives your coins back and every other listed hand wins more. A straight can run from ace to five or from ten to ace, but it cannot wrap around from king through ace to two.
You can bet one to five coins, and the coin value can be 1, 5 or 25 play chips. With five coins and the best possible holds, this pay table returns about 99.5 percent of what is bet, a house edge of about 0.5 percent. Playing fewer than five coins lowers the return because the royal flush then pays only 250 per coin. The Hint button follows a simplified strategy list, which plays close to the best holds but not exactly the same in every rare case.
Controls
Pick the coin value with the chips, then use Bet one to change the number of coins or Bet max to bet five coins and deal at once. Press Deal to get five cards. Click or tap a card to hold it, and click it again to release it. Press Draw to replace the cards you did not hold, and the winning row of the pay table lights up when the hand pays. The Hint button marks the cards the strategy list would hold, and you can still change them before you draw.
