Thanksgiving Monday brings varied hours for malls, transit and services
Major shopping malls will be open in several cities, while public transit will run on holiday or Sunday schedules.
Thanksgiving Monday brings a mix of openings and closures for retail, transit and municipal services across several Canadian cities.
Shoppers in Winnipeg can head to St. Vital, Kildonan Place, CF Polo Park, Garden City and the Outlet Collection mall, which are all open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday.
The Shoppers Mall in Brandon will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

In Ottawa, the Rideau Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Tanger Outlets will also be open.
Most major grocery stores in Ottawa and Hamilton will be closed Monday, as will all LCBO and Beer Store locations in Ontario.
In Portage la Prairie, Walmart and Sobeys will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., while Canadian Tire is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
Public transit will operate on modified schedules. Winnipeg Transit will run on a Sunday schedule.
Brandon Transit will operate on holiday hours, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
In Ottawa, OC Transpo bus and O-Train service will run on a Sunday schedule, with O-Train Line 1 running from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Lines 2 and 4 running from 7:30 a.m to 11:30 p.m.
Hamilton's HSR will run its Sunday schedule, with no Monday service on routes 12 Wentworth and 42 Mohawk East.
Garbage and recycling collection is cancelled in Ottawa and Hamilton on Monday, with pickup delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
In Winnipeg, recycling and waste collection will proceed as normally scheduled.
The Brady Road Landfill in Winnipeg will be open for commercial customers only from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m., while the Brady 4R Winnipeg Depot will be open for residential customers only from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Most municipal offices, public libraries and recreation centres will be closed for the holiday.
In Winnipeg, all public libraries will be closed, as will all indoor pools except the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, Margaret Grant Pool and Pan Am Pool.
City-run golf courses in Winnipeg will be open, depending on the weather, and the Assiniboine Park Zoo will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
All branches of the Ottawa Public Library and all Hamilton Public Library locations will be closed Monday.
The Portage la Prairie Regional Library is also closed Sunday and Monday.
In Ottawa, the Ottawa 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only.
The Ottawa Mission shelter will open its doors on Monday, serving a full Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In Portage la Prairie, the Portage Same Day Clinic is open Sunday but closed Monday, while the Portage District General Hospital emergency room remains open 24 hours.
