Tonybet launches Halloween tournament with C$23,000 prize pool

The week-long Trick or Treat Tournament uses a multiplier-based format to rank players on qualifying slot wins.

Tonybet is running a Halloween-themed casino tournament with a C$23,000 prize pool for players in Canada from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1.

The Trick or Treat Tournament will award cash bonuses and free spins to 220 players who finish on the leaderboard.

The tournament uses the operator’s X-Multi format, which ranks players based on the multiplier achieved on qualifying slot wins.

Players qualify by placing real-money bets of at least C$0.75 on participating slot games.

Each qualifying win earns points based on its multiplier, calculated by dividing the win amount by the stake.

For example, a C$15 win from a C$0.75 bet earns 20 points.

Players are ranked by their accumulated points, with ties awarded to the player who reached the score first.

The format measures wins relative to the amount wagered, rather than ranking players by stake size alone.

Eligible players are enrolled automatically, with qualifying spins counting from the tournament’s opening.

The tournament offers cash bonuses, led by C$2,500 for first place.

Players ranked from 61st to 220th will receive Bonus Spins on Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Halloween 2, extending rewards beyond the highest-ranked participants.

The Halloween edition follows Tonybet’s X-Multi Tournaments held throughout August, continuing its use of multiplier-based competitions for casino players.

The tournament’s name has a Canadian connection.

Historians trace the earliest known printed use of “trick or treat” to a 1927 Canadian newspaper report describing Halloween pranksters visiting homes and asking for treats.

The tradition gained popularity across North America in the following decades and became widespread after the Second World War, when the end of sugar rationing allowed manufacturers to produce Halloween sweets on a larger scale.

Halloween also continues to attract adult participants.

A Leger survey of 1,537 Canadians conducted in October 2025 found that 31% planned to celebrate the occasion, six percentage points higher than a year earlier.

Tonybet’s Canadian offering also includes sports betting, with live and pre-match markets, as well as esports.

The operator notes its casino is not available to residents of Ontario and Alberta.
