Victor Charles McIntyre, 57, was found in medical distress in the park early on Sept. 23 and died at the scene.

VANCOUVER — Vancouver police have released surveillance video of a man and a woman they believe may have information about a homicide in CRAB Park last month.

Victor Charles McIntyre, 57, died after being found in medical distress in the Downtown Eastside waterfront park early on the morning of Sept. 23.

He died at the scene despite life-saving efforts by first responders, police said.

"This happened in an open area, it's difficult for us to solve these things unless people come forward with their information," said Sgt. Adam Donaldson, VPD media relations officer.

One video shows a woman wearing a yellow long-sleeved shirt, green pants and burgundy shoes walking near Main and East Cordova streets in the early morning hours of Sept. 23.

The other shows a man on Columbia and Keefer streets, carrying a longboard and wearing a black jacket over a red and blue shirt, black pants and white shoes.

"Investigators believe these individuals may have information that could assist this ongoing homicide investigation," said Const. Megan Lui.

"If you are this man or woman, or know who they are, we would ask that you contact VPD immediately."

Police said officers were called to the park shortly before 7 a.m. PT after receiving reports of a man in medical distress.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The killing marked the city's sixth homicide of the year.

Police have not identified any suspects.

Anyone with information, and anyone who was in or around CRAB Park between 9 p.m. on Sept. 22 and 7 a.m. on Sept. 23, is asked to contact the VPD homicide unit at 604-717-2500.

Police also continue to ask anyone who knew McIntyre to get in touch.

"This person that died was somebody's child, they're going to be missed, and we hope to bring some closure to that person's family," Donaldson said.

The Vancouver Police Homicide Unit can be reached at 604-717-2500.
